Context

This wastewater utility, named SYAGE, is made up of a total of 28 cities and 25 groups of municipalities, i.e. a total of 120 municipalities, spread over 3 departments (Essonne, Seine-et-Marne, and Val-de-Marne).

The SYAGE exercises major competences that have been delegated to it by the member municipalities, the aim being to preserve water resources. These cover very different missions but they all contribute to the same goal: to preserve water resources.

Rivers are nowadays seriously polluted by waste discharged by industry, agriculture,but also the inhabitants.

The consequences of this pollution are numerous: fish and species mortality, global environmental disruption (eutrophication, endocrine disruptors, diseases...)
